Our County Durham-based distillery has launched its very first limited-edition premium gin, by putting our superior London Dry in a white oak barrel and aging it for four months.
In June, we put a 100-litre batch of our Sir John Conyers gin into a cask, not quite knowing what to expect. Now, we have 140 bottles of ‘liquid gold’, a delicious infusion of the citrusy London Dry you know and love, combined with woody notes and a hint of spice.
And since stock is limited, the one-of-a-kind bottle makes the perfect Christmas gift for Dragon Slayers and gin lovers alike.
Priced at £79.95, the premium gin is a rare luxury, but one which will proudly stand on your drinks cabinet.
The cask
The cask was previously used by Jack Daniels to hold its Bourbon whiskey, after that, it was acquired by Guyana-based Demerara Distillery, the oldest distillery in the world, to hold a Port Morant Rum, which began its 10-year aging process in 2013 – an incredibly rare barrel to come by.
Over the years, the wood on the inside of the cask has absorbed all the delicious flavors from its previous contents, which has resulted in a truly unique-flavored gin with a beautiful golden hue.
The journey
When you take a sip of our Aged London Dry, the first thing you’ll notice is the smell: strong notes of citrus and hints of woody tones.
Next, the palate: you’ll taste a little spice and citrus with a dash of vanilla.
And finally, you’ll be left with an inviting warmth of spice and cinnamon.

A message from Yazz
“There’s been a lot of hype around aging gins, and people have done it in the past – but we wanted to do it, and as always in true Dragon Slayer style, we wanted to try and do it better than the rest, so when we acquired this rare cask, we thought what better time to give it a try.
“The cask has certainly enhanced the botanicals in the London Dry, it’s absolutely delicious – I love pairing it with Ginger Ale – it feels so festive.
“It’s been a great experience creating a limited-edition gin and experimenting with the cask! I can’t wait to see gin lovers enjoying the drink with their family over the festive period.”
